NAVAL ARMOUR

Craig International Ballistics has applied its expertise in development of aircraft armour, to uses in marine armour panels for border patrol vessels and Navy frigates.

Meeting Maritime Ballistic requirements...

Airframe requirements for precise engineering and very lightweight components are readily applicable to maritime requirements.

Our lightweight marine bullet resistant panels incorporate materials such as:

  • Boron Carbide (B4C)
  • Avient Dyneema®
  • Dupont Kevlar® Aramid
  • Silicon Carbide (SiC)
  • Honeywell Spectra Shield®

Dyneema® is a registered trademark of Avient Corporation.
Kevlar® is a registered trademark of Dupont.
Spectra Shield® is a registered trademark of Honeywell Inc USA.

Craig International Ballistics manufactures a full range of ballistic protection panels to suit marine, aircraft and structural use.

Our armour panels can be manufactured in sizes of up to 2.4m x 1.6m.

We have been involved in a number of contracts for the supply of lightweight NIJ and STANAG armour panels for high speed patrol boats protecting international borders.

Modern ballistic fabrics are extremely light, and in a number of cases, have positive buoyancy. This makes them desirable for maritime armour, but a necessity for amphibious assault body armour.
